Friday Productions Notes- Patch next week

Post by Reddog »

In short resupply times will be going up, but I did see this little gem, that was on the "cut list"

Factory Damage Effects: Bombing factories adjusts RDP and Resupply Times. However, with the various open issues in the forums regarding RDP bombing, we felt any change here prior to the "air care package" (version 1.28)would be ill-advised.

1. Increase in the resupply timer from 4.5 hours to 7 hours.

We are finally being heard!

Air Care Package???? First I've heard that term used.

Yep IF and I mean IF they did not change the percentage damage that facdtory bombing increases resupply timers, then we can indeed hurt the Axis spawn timers.

Even more interesting gossip concerning bombing.

Mr Slave
DOC out of curiosity, how long were you folks thinking of extending the supply timer based on bombing?

just curious what the ballpark is for post radar discussion.

Doc's reply

Not finalized yet. I would guess about 100% over what it is now. It could well be more, and I'm a total idiot for saying anything when the decision is not made yet, and won't be until other aspects of v1.28 planning are also completed, I'm sure you know why I should never answer such questions.

But I'm just too nice to ignore you. <- also why I'm an idiot.

This puts it in the range of an extra 4 -6 hours on the supply timer for 50% TOTAL Factory output. This makes bombing begin to bite hard again.
They are waiting for radar to be introduced before any changes so its really going to hurt axis bomber pilots who will need to learn how to fly with escorts.

Just try to catch up on all of this after 9 months. So increasing the effectiveness of bombing may be their way giving the play base a real chance of throttling TOE supply?

Alot biatching from the groundies on stacking of Bde's and such.

Some news from Doc concerning RDP.

The delay is a percentage of the timer (ie: now 7 hours) so in fact, it ADDS to the timers.

So you can never have less than 7 hours even if you do zero bombing. Seven hours plus whatever percentage (sliding scale) of that 7 hours your bombing has done. what we didn't do (and are waiting for radar to implement) is INCREASE the percentage over it's previous setting, which was a percentage of a 4.5 hour timer.

The percentage varies because factories rebuild, thus the damage done is never constant, unless you carpet bomb 24/7 and they never get a chance to rebuild. With a percentage of a supply timer that is now nearly 60% greater than it used to be, you're causing almost 60% more delay compared to before.

Some more.

It has exactly the same effect with one caveat ... instead of adding time to and slowing down a 4.5 hour resuuply time, you are adding to and slowing down a 7 hour resupply time.

So if you slowed a 4.5 hour resupply time by 20% (example only) because of bombing, you'd create a 5.4 hour resupply time. If you slowed a 7 hour resupply time by 20% because of the same amount of bombing ... you'd create a 8.4 hour resupply time.

If the percentage is higher (more RDP factory damage = higher percentage of resupply delay added to the timer) then the resupply rate slows down in a relative fashion.
