A320 nearly crashed during crosswind approach

Post by Main4ce »

Airbus A320-200 Lufthansa nearly crashed during a crosswind approach on the runway 23 at the airport Hamburg International (EDDH) on 1st march 2008 in Germany. Extreme landing or approach, Crash! the Left wing touched the runway.... Crazy.

Storm Emma 2008 in Germany (Hamburg EDDH). After the landing the left wing was destroyed. This first landing was a wingstrike..

i guess codguy can corredt me, but i think what happend is when she (the co-pilot who flew) turn the nose towards the runway, the right wing moves faster then the left wing, so it got more lift...

Yeah, figures they'd film ben when he was landing. Hey, he had his canopy closed and he didn't even get near any trees.....hey wait a minute, there weren't any trees around the runway....go figure.

Nice recovery though. After the aborted landing, I would have asked for a Guinness, and a clean pair of shorts.
Yeah, figures they'd film ben when he was landing.
Ben's landings are that good?
