1.26 is currently in beta and several of the performance optimizations are going through QA. One of these optimizations is a memory handling improvement.
We'd like to begin testing of this memory handling but we aren't quite ready to throw 1.26 to open testing. instead we've built an installer that will install an executable with a version of these memory handling improvements to your live game directory.
As with any test you should assume this is beta software and may have bugs or defects. Install this software at your own risk.
If you'd like to participate in this test please follow these instructions carefully.
Download
Download this file:1.25.6 Beta.
Install
Manually launch the file wwiiol12551256_BETA.exe from the location where you saved the file. This file will overwrite your live game executables.
Play
Launch and play the game normally. Concentrate your observations on stutters, particularly when flying into densely populated areas.
Report
Return to this thread and report your observations.
Uninstall
If for any reason you have issues with this executable you can return your game to the default executables by running this installer.
We appreciate any assistance you can give us on this test and request that if you participate you please give us feedback once you have played for at least an hour using the test executables.
