I fear that Flyboys is gonna be another Pearl Harbour mess.
The preview with the dozens of red triplanes worries me....

I did find another WWI movie that looks pretty good.
http://www.redbaron-themovie.com/

'Red Baron' may be out by X-mas

It's being shot by a German film crew with a German cast and I'm hoping that it will be like Das Boot or Stalingrad, gritty, realistic and not Hollywierded.

If any of you guys go see "Flyboys", I want a review!! :D

One of the perks of my new job, there's a stack of flying mags.
I just read an article about Flyboys, it sounds like they might do a decent job of it.
The director is a long time pilot.
They custom built a bunch of Nieuports for the film.
They put some, if not all of the actors through flight training for the film.
One of the actors is a well respected young aerobatics pilot, who did a crash course in acting.
The computer generated side of things was done by putting inertia logging equipment into aircraft flown by aerobatics pilots, and then transferring the data into the computers so they can get the CGI aircraft in the film to behave realistically.
The mag rated the movie pretty highly.

I had a look at the website for the Red Baron movie a while back too. That could be good too. If they do as good a job as they did with "Das Boot", it'll be a winner.

Heres the download page, you will see 3 servers to choose from at the bottom of the page

http://www.flyboysgame.com/DownloadDemo.html

You simple registor by given your Email address, make a game name and password. You will then receive an email to activate you account (no cost) and hey bingo! you can play online!

My game name is "Scottx" as it wouldn't take Main4ce, this is due to the fact that your name has to be 6 letters and no numbers!

I think I saw a spad that was going to be in FlyBoys. Was at a aircraft museum a year or so ago and they said they were packing it up to be moved to Europe for a WW1 movie.

Just saw the Movie. It's a great movie, lot of flying and fighting. $8.50 a ticket. Don't know if it ranks with the Blue Max, but I really enjoyed it.
