617Dambusters

Ahh you beat me to it, yes squad functionality is now in, will take a look this weekend. Havent checked but dont we all have a stash of Eagles to use up during beta?

Well my stuff ain't got enuff. I would be really curious, have they posted a subscription plan, with different levels or are they going to nickel and dime us all the way?

The idea of me playing more escorts too achieve some sort of points to get to some more stuff is kinda funny, I stink in single engine.

Ok sorry for the delay, I have just checked War Thunder and I have over 35K eagles so I can create the squad if you wish. The eagles are probably from my Alpha days.

The squadron is now created.

How do we want the squad to be presented. We have the following

Squadron name: 617 Dambusters Squadron
Squadron tag: 617DB (exactly same as WW2Online)
Motto: After me, the flood (do you want it in french or english or both, I have put both?)
Description: 512 characters.

Unfortunately we are not the only 617 Dambusters Squadron out there, another player created a squad two days ago.

whats the french motto look like? i think we should keep it english as we are not nor was the real squadron french.

how is there going to be two 617 dambuster squads ingame?

Description is only 512 characters, but I will rejiggle it later. Even though a player could reserve a squadron before the registrations were open (I tried to do this but was unavailable due to work and personal reasons), it does not stop another person creating another squadron with a slight variation of the name. So the Squadron that registered before us is "617 Dambusters Squadron RAF", we are "617 Dambusters Squadron", so I guess Gaijin have not done a very good job with name detecting. So in future we will probably see a lot of different variations of Axis squads like the JG's and you know how passionate those squads are I can see it coming to blows eventually.
I guess even though our presence has been in the game since I was in Alpha/beta and beyond, and our forum post was one of the more active ones last year, I guess it would come down to who registers first and we missed it by 2 days, but we will see what happens, and maybe we can have some sort of relationship with the other squad all depending where we are going to see them fly, as they might be arcade only.

So when you go in game and on the menu you see squadrons, search 617 and you will see two squads with the name, the one setup a few days ago already have 11-12 members but they haven't done any good promotion on the forum other than a couple of lines as far as I can see, and no link to their website, whereas our squadron been lurking for a good few years.

One thing I did notice trying to rejig my signature is that it only restricted to two lines now and the image seems to be too large, so I have left it as I wanted to put this website in the sig. So I would be tempted just to leave yours as it is.

Once I have Reddog and Snipples in the squad then I will transfer the ownership to you guys.

the games damage models are starting to make me mad lol

so is our goal to ultimately getting into lancasters (level 16 and costing 1.4 million lions) or B17s (starting at level 13 and costing 1.4 million lions)?

im at 8 in americans and 4 in british, ive got a buncha XP that i'm thinking about converting into rank that will get me up to 10/9. now, we can spend money (real money) to buy gold and thus lions to pay for the bombers, what we can buy is rank. the only way to get that is by playing the maps and converting XP to get a little more speeding in ranking up.
