Hello from a friend;

Postby Loupvert » Mon Jan 04, 2010 6:00 am

Hello busters,

I'm checking in to let you know me a bit more it the hope that we'll be able to cooperate better when the time will come.

I'm 30, ex military back to civilian live and I live in Belgium, am a military history and sim enthusiast.

WW2OL have been my bipolar love since 2003, I've been in and out several times but I always came back since there's nothing as good around.

My nickname does come from the history of my unit, which was the Chasseurs Ardennais (Ardennian Rifles).

The May 10th 1940, two platoons, that were supposed to delay the axis advance in the small village of Chabrehez (near Vielsalm), never received their Fallback order, due to sabotage executed by EPara on their rear, so they decided to HoldAtAllCost.

Doing so, they halted the 7th Panzer Division for several hours, forcing Rommel itself to spawn in.

When the axis eventually captured the village, Rommel declared "Es sind keine Menschen, sondern grüne Wölfe" ("They are not Humans, but green Wolfes", in french "Ce ne sont pas des Hommes, mais des Loups verts") probably referring to our wide basque type green beret.

Well, I was young and thought that it sounded cool... go figure. ^^

My actual squad is the Troisième Division Légère Motorisée (aka 3DLM), a frenchspeaking, as myself, and versatile squad based on team working and regular training.

Even if I'm already in a squad, I've a strong faith in inter squad cooperation so I do like to get in touch and cooperate with other players as if they were my squaddies.

My TZ is GMT+1 but I'm mostly playing during evening and night so I often meet US players in game.

During the years, I've been in both HC for some months (AHC in 2004 iirc, and GHC in 2008), I've also been a trainer during the summer 2008, have mostly played on the allied side but been also Axis for a few months in 2008.

Up to now, I've been mostly focused on the ground since the start, but I'm now having a growing attraction for the sky so I'm often flying, mostly DB-7, and I volunteered as HC for the FAF.

Also, I do understand spoken english but I've lost the habit to speak it so don't expect me to be a lecturer on TS. At best, I'll be able to gabble some words.

Voila.

May we meet and succeed in the virtual skies! :iconcheersm8:

Welcome Loupvert.

I see already that your English is far better than most of us speak French.

Nous seront joyeux à prendre plus de combattant l'usine pour escorter.
Bombardier piloter êtes aussi véritable bienvenue!

Hello all,

thanks for the nice words.

I just did an RDP raid with some of you and it was damn great. We were about 15 bombers, have been attacked just enough to make it interesting and I did 4 pas over Köln before relocating to Essen, where I eventually dropped my 8 with 6 actually hitting E2.

Then I climbed to 8k to be safe and RTBed to Maubeuge. The mission lasted 110 minutes, probably my longest flight but I enjoyed any moment.

I had a very good time, I learnt a lot and listening you chating on TS was very pleasant too (however, I didin't spoke at all since it's night, family is sleeping, and, well, I speak english as an old french farmer ^^).

It was so enjoyable that I'll try to do at least 5 flights per week along you (been designated training XO of my squad, so the time is often short for me).

Thanks again, be safe and have fun.

Cheers, :iconcheersm8:

Welcome back loupvert. I certainly do remember you. I'll be ingame tomorrow, Sunday Jan 16 at noon eastern time. Hope to see ya again. You and I started the game about the same time if I remember correctly. I started in Jan of 2003.
