What's up?

Hi guys, just thought I'd say hello as it has been ages! Must be 3-4 year since I regularly played, only let my subscription lapse last year. I stopped playing as we had a little boy (Alexander) who's now 3yrs old and parenting sure takes up your free time!

I signed up for a free play account (allibon3) this week and got into game as I had seen the 2017 Dev Plan/Roadmap and everything looks really promising, I see we're even getting 3 new aircraft!. I've been playing inf only as I'm joystickless at the moment, and I'm not sure what level of an airwar there is just now. It's the same exact game but can't believe how much I've missed it! Playing inf and ranking up has been fun and hopefully getting on to Steam this year will be the biggest shot in the arm the game will have had in years! Xoom's new crew really seem to have a better direction for teh game instead of what had went immediately went before, with the whole Rapid Assault misstep that I don't think anyone in the community was asking for.

I was obviously away for the transition from the old team to the new team and I've no idea what went down, so if anyone can enlighten me it'd be great. I see that Gophur, Doc, Rafter etc are gone and it is strange not having those day 1 guys around. Listened to the recent RatChat and was very impressed by Sniper62, way to go buddy!

So anyway, I will hopefully see some of you in game, if the Steam release pans out it'd be great to get the old squad back together!

Yup, things have been pretty busy for the past few years. Back in 2012 funding ran out for the game and it was on its last leg. The game was basically given over to Xoom and has been ran by him ever since. The player base funded hiring a programmer and a few other funding drives to get some work done and new equipment purchased. There is usually one funding drive a year, so the player base does really pay to keep the game running. Back in 2014 they started allowing players to volunteer to help out and that's when I joined up to help out on the community tools side of things. It's been a pretty cool adventure.

You need to get you a new joystick lol how do you call yourself a pilot?! :D They fixed up the 109s and their crazy handling, I have yet to fly em yet, always working on things in the background. The guys hardly ever play anyway but with 1.36 going to be released prior to steam, it should help out the RDP game as it will be removing the brigade system. So no more just moving around a fresh brigade whenever the resupply times are slowed down.

Congrats on the new pilot! I'm sure you'll train him up to be a pro escort pilot!

Hey Charlie & Sniper, good to see at least a couple of guys still active. I really do miss our RDP runs, been watching the videos I used to make and reminiscing. We used to have a great time together and hope that those that aren't currently active are all well. I miss Reddog hollering at me to clear his six

I ordered my trusty Logitech Extreme 3D Pro today from Amazon, so should be here Fri or Sat, just in time for campaign start. I've never been able to adjust to any of the fancier more expensive sticks, but the 3D Pro just feels great in the hand. Will just need to look out my Track-Ir now too! I'm gonna be rusty!!!

Will be interesting to see what going back to town based supply means, hopefully make RDP more important again.

Are the squad off playing any other game all together? I see mentions of War Thunder, but to be honest I'd only play it if the squad were doing flights together. I miss my escort duty!

Waiting on the pedals my wife promised me for my birthday. Only 3 more days till I turn 60. Damn Reddog where does the time go. I still remember a 13 year old Sniper.
