It's just that I've been killed SO many times by folks who could not have known where I was ahead of time, I'm just suspicious that a lot of people are using hacks and the Rats just can't catch them at it.

Example:

I'm hiding prone, inside a building, around an out of the way corner. No one has ANY reason to think anyone would be there. A German soldier comes around the corner. He's walking sideways with his weapon already pointed down at the exact angle he needs to kill me. He takes one step around the corner and fires before I can even hit my mouse button to fire MY weapon. He didn't even need to move to aim, because he was already aimed directly at me before he rounded the corner. WTF is that?

It's safer in the air! :)

ah my bad... i thought i saw you online the other day but it must have been somebody else. what is your in game name?

if you want to learn to fly, multicrewing won't help in that regard... watch some youtube videos or be somebody's wingman

multicrewing won't help you learn bombing either... 90% of accurate bombing is done in the driver's seat and 10% is learning when to drop. this is true for CAS and factory bombing

rank up by bombing bridges in a blen and then you can spawn the good fighter/bombers and just start practicing

If you are prone, I'm wondering if your legs aren't sticking through the wall which can be seen in the next room or outside the building. Also, what you described is the standard way of clearing a room. It could be that you just got caught in a room clearing.

I'm aware of the clipping issue, so I always stay far enough away from walls, ESPECIALLY outside walls. And I wasn't in a room which would normally need to be cleared, so that is questionable at best.

Another example is me being on the second floor of a building. I knew fire had been coming from the building next to me, so I was getting in position to see who was firing. I entered the building from the opposite side. I had not been in LoS of the shooter, ever. I was hidden behind the wall separating me from the building occupied by the shooter. I go from prone to kneeling, to peek over a partially destroyed wall. This is the FIRST moment the shooter could have EVER seen me. He's not there. I'm staring at what looks like an empty building. Still, I'm covering the likely spot, hoping he will pop up so I can get a shot. He DOES pop up. However, when he pops up, he's already aiming directly at me and fires in that same moment, giving me no time to adjust my aim or fire. The only way he could have known exactly where I'd be was to have a "wall hack" (see other players' locations through walls). Seeing as there is such a hack openly on sale online for $25...

I assume XOOM and team are aware of these hacks? That video does sure turn WW2Online into a Call of Duty style piece of arcade rubbish. Shame really.

I PMd back and forth with Xoom about the hack. He said they had ways to see if anyone was using things like that and basically indicated they had it under control.

HOWEVER, I see no one being banned for it. The website says the hack uses OpenGL, so I imagine it only changes what renders on your screen. Since the information is sent by the game anyway, I don't know of any way the Rats could tell someone was using it unless they started getting reported a bunch of times for impossible shots. Even then, since the code is so buggy anyway, with infantry aim-lag and such JUST being addressed in this patch, it seems it would be impossible to prove unless it was abused to a massive degree, such as constantly shooting out of LoS targets.

that hack is being taken care of...just like any digital game there are going to be things like that. the best thing to do is to do a .report if you think someone has it.

Been there. Done that. Nothing has ever come out of any report I've filed, and I've filed several for incidents such as the ones I've posted, where it's clear the other player was aiming at where I was before there was ever LoS between our avatars. It's always blamed on bugs in the code, lag, latency, et cetera and the devs will "keep an eye on it."

If the program only interprets data already being sent to our computers by the game (i.e. the closest X number of other characters to ours) and overwrites it onto our screens, and doesn't send any additional information back TO the game, I don't see where it could be stopped, or even detected, by the Rats.

I came on earlier after initially having problems with the resolution (I have a 4K setup with 3840x2160 monitor), found one of Snipers alt in game but eventually went AFK, there was an emergency maintenence scheduled. I try alittle later but found no one on.
got my keymapper to the point I should be able to do some bombing.

My wife had back surgery Friday. There went my "last weekend of WBS." I should be on tonight, though...and BEYOND (*hint*). I'm still hoping the Dambusters can make a difference again.

*EDIT* Midnight, EDT (US Eastern Daylight Time) - Been looking for everyone. I saw Sniper online for just a few, earlier. He had to leave, though. No one is logged into the game and no one is on TeamSpeak. What's up wit dat?

Same here wife had surgery. Secondary to that right now is a fight with Windstream. My service is error laden. The jitter is unreal and dropping packets. Old outside cable plant. They say this is a known issue and the fix is 3 years out when they do fiber here. One of my buddies is a tech for windstream and he said he'd try to get here this week with the tester so we can look at the problem. I trust Johnny. I think he'll find a way to fix this shit.

Keep the faith brudder. We will be with you when we can. Don't go no where. Put charlie3 in your friends list. Me too, so when we do log in you'll know it. I have been on twice this weekend for about a half hour but only seen Xoom both times.

I already have you guys "friended." MAN, I looked up that town (what town???) of yours. If you don't live IN the middle of nowhere, you can certainly see it from your house. :)

You have THIS Windstream???

Keep looking for the best ISP. I'm sure civilization will find you sometime soon (before the next ice age). Do you have a land (phone) line? If so, there HAVE to be some DSL providers around you...somewhere. It's not cable or fiber optic, but it's a LOT better than dialup.

Was online and on ts3 on saturday before some maintenance. Had sound issues on Sunday (Both offline practice and online), could get sound if I look left or right with the engine running on the DB7 but it disappears if I look front, very off putting.
