Campaign 116

Post by Sniper62 »

With the Resupply timers upped to 18 hours and with the ability to make it 36 hours at 100% damage to the enemy factories, the RDP war has been heating up already this week. Theres also rumors that the factory rebuild times were doubled as well...but those are unconfirmed. But if that is the case, holly crap batman!

Last night Forrest and I lead a flight of 5 He111s and 7 or so escorts...it turned out to be a pretty great mission. Most everyone was able to stay close during the flight and of course right before we got to target interceptors showed up! The fighter escorts did their job and killed about 6 interceptors. All but one He111 made it home and it wasnt even due to him getting shot down. The over all mission was a success and quite a few times I heard "oh, I missed this!" or "This is how the airwar should be!".

Good stuff, just like the old days! Sure could use some more dambusters to show the Axis how its done and that it is possible for them to win an RDP war.

What time are you online sniper? I have to check and see if I need any downloaded updates. Crashing loading with a network error. Was working good last time I used it but have been through quite a few NVIDIA Updates for my 590. I will try to fly when you fly. Why don't you use the forum mass mailer and send out an invitation to everyone we have on the site and ask them to come back, at least for the campaign. I take it we're flying Axis? If so, no need to advertise it. Let's just play as a squad and concentrate on having fun flying with each other.

I'll keep you posted. By the way, send me your cell number in text. 229-313-0102 for my cell.

Send the mass mail to everyone who has ever signed up with the Dambusters Forum. Let's get some butts in the seats.

Whoa... Pardon me. I thought I had found an Allied unit. I mean, look at the front page of the website.

----------
We are a fun bunch of nuts who love raining down destruction on the Axis factories around the clock.

Although our main function is strategic bombing, our squad encourages enjoyment in the game and readily perform other missions as required by the Allied High Command. If the Axis make it, we're more than happy to blow it up!

Even if you don't elect to join our ranks, we need the help of every Allied player to keep the Axis war machine at bay...

Our squadron of gamers is tasked with levelling factories to affect Axis research, development and production in the game. We also provide close air support by raining bombs on Axis armour, artillery and troops.

----------

Did I miss something? Yeah, I want you guys to come back actively to the game, and I even want to get in the air with you. I'm not playing Axis, however. From what I'm given to understand, during the last campaign some of the Axis HC did some things which pissed a lot of Allied players off. I'm not sure of the details, but I know I'm Allied, hard core. I thought the Dambusters were too.

Sounds like a great time you had there Snipples.

Sometimes we do get the itch to fly other aircraft and we on a rare occasion fly as KG617. It is also a good training aid as often the allied do not have the option to fight against large formations of axis bombers, so seeing KG617 flying as axis gives them the chance to duke it out.

We are an allied unit. We do fly the HE 111's as it is our only way to fly bigger bombers. Some times we will go for a campaign and fly them. It's been a long time since we flew the big boys. You should join sniper62 when he flies these aircraft. If you don't have the rank, just continue to fly the DB7's. Once 1.35 comes out with the multicrew fix, we can rank you up on the HE 111's. It is much different flying them than flying the Havoc or DB7. It also helps you to understand some of the comments you see from the axis about slow rides and long mission times.

Don't worry about the smell when you get back. A shower removes it......LOL.

ODonovan,

Check your PM's. I just sent you a message. Did anyone tell you that a part of becomming a squad member is your ability to fly under bridges without killing yourself? LOL. Not kidding.

See you in game.

na, you didnt miss anything. We are an Allied squad but we also do go Axis from time to time. The purpose for going axis this map, right after this big change, is to try and prove to the axis that taking the time to actually RDP bomb will make a difference for them. Every time there is a positive change to RDP the axis cry about how the advantage is all on the allied side, then none of the axis bomb and it makes it seem like the allies are overpowered, then there is another change to RDP and it is back to sucking...so, bombing on the axis side is meant to be a game saver rather than just an allied saver, if that makes sense. Thats the reason for doing it anyway.

And sometimes a change is a good thing. Flying axis allows us to fly medium bombers instead of the crappy payload bombers that we have on the allied side. No one is forcing anyone else to play a side that they dont want to. We all pay for our own game experience, so no reason to come over and fly a He111 this map if you dont want to.
