Ok, got some updates for you guys.
Good news and Bad news. ;)

Bad news first.
Seems like noone wants to do a 4-colour screen print on a cheap ballcap for any kind of reasonable price. WTF! I though it would be easy... Oh well.

Good news is;
I have a couple of quotes in for embroidered Crests. 2"x3" 5/6 colour iron on. Average price is about $2us per patch in lots of 100.

I found good ballcaps, twill, adjustable snapback, one or two colours for about $3us @, no minimums.
Cap colour I was considering were Navy Blue overall or Navy with a medium Red brim (RAF colours)
Which would you prefer? They will be all the same.

I am thinking that I will order 30 caps and 100 Patches.

For those guys across the big water, Patches can just be mailed and you can put them on whatever you like. Or if you would like additional patches I'm sure there will be plenty to go around.

So, I think about $5us for a Patch and $10us for a ballcap with a patch, ought to cover product and shipping pretty well.
Certainly here in the U.S. Don't worry about my time, I'm not doing this for a profit..
For the overseas guys, it might be cheaper to get a patch and buy a cap locally.
Bunches would certainly be cheaper though, so if the Aussies or the Brits got together a single shipping location that would probably save a great deal as ballcaps weigh almost nothing..

I will probably start asking for shipping addresses in a couple of weeks.

So, better quality AND cheaper than I had originally had in mind..
So it appears at this time..... Will Murphy step in??

Hey TZ, have you looked into Cafepress? You upload a design, and they print it onto whatever you want, and sell it based on orders.
If somebody orders a hat, they process the order, make it, and send it out direct to anywhere.

Cafepress site was down for maintenance last I saw.
I did check a bunch of places around though

Lot's of folks will do monochrome cheap but 4 colour screen printing...

Patches are classier anyway and the price looks pretty damn good..
I was surprised at how inexpensive embroidery was.

Patches are on order.
I should have a proof to show off near the end of April.

Still looking for input on cap colours.

If noone says anything I will probably go with the overall Navy blue.

Here ya go TZ. Something interesting to read. Think you're just about right on with the colors. Both dark and light blue along with red and white are the RAF Color. In 1951 King George VI presented a King's Colour to the RAF.

Link to the data. Interesting little read.
